privacy policy

What information do I collect?

I collect identifiable information from you when you place an order or subscribe to my newsletter.

When ordering from my site or registering for my mailing list, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your: name, e-mail address, mailing address or payment information.

What do I use your information for?

Any of the information I collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

To process transactions

Information collected when you place an order is used solely to send you what you ordered - I won't share these details with anyone outside the process of the transaction and delivery. My payments are processed by PayPal, and I use Royal Mail or occasionally other delivery companies to send orders. This basically means your address and payment details are seen by PayPal, and postal workers will see your address on the envelope, as you might expect. But I won't share them with anyone random who has nothing to do with it.

To send periodic emails

The email address you provide may be used to send you information, updates on your orders, respond to enquiries, and/or other requests or questions. If you sign up to the mailing list, it will be used to send you regular mailouts relating to the website and its contents.

Do I use cookies?

Yes.

This website uses cookies to remember and process the items in your shopping cart and compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that I can offer better site experiences and tools in the future. At the moment these cookies are set by PayPal, which is a third party company that has its own privacy policy. I don't set any cookies myself.

If you prefer, you can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies via your browser settings. Like most websites, if you turn your cookies off, some of my services may not function properly. However, you can still place orders by email.

Do I disclose any information to outside parties?

I do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. The only exception to this is using your address for delivery - obviously this will be viewed by employees of the delivery company.

Third party links

Occasionally, at my discretion, I may include or offer third party products or services on my website. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. I therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, I seek to protect the integrity of my site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

Your Consent

By using my site, you consent to my website's privacy policy.

Changes to my Privacy Policy

If I decide to change my privacy policy, I will post those changes on this page. If you want more information about privacy issues relating to use of this website, please contact me.

Data Retention

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 20 years.

Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU

I don't transfer your personal information outside my own computer - I do not use cloud storage, and I keep all backups on site.

Your Rights

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:

  • Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.
  • Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
  • Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
  • Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
